About the Artist
I began crafting about 20 years ago. It all started when I went to visit my father in Florida; he really enjoyed Flea Markets. He used to look for boxes of 45's to play in the Juke Boxes that he would buy out of the newspaper and repair. He loved to look through other peoples junk-- something I have come to enjoy, as well. While visiting, I found a piece of folk art a woman was selling that really appealed to my artistic sensibility. I was excited to bring it home to New Jersey and try making it myself.
I had four years of art in High School and was told by the different teachers to always continue being creative...and so I do. There are many fine "Aluminum Can Folk Artists " out there. I have a small collection myself of cool things made by other people.
In the beginning, I was going to Craft Shows normally around Christmas time to sell what I was making at the time. Then, I put my hobbies aside to be a Dad and raise two kids with my wife. With one in college now and the other soon to be in college in a year, I have gone back to (as my wife would call it) play with cans again.
I have created this website for the people who ask me, "Do you have a website?" or "Do you have a business card?" Well, now I have both. Thank you to all the people who have motivated me to be creative again!
